Full Time General Manager

Position Description


Adult Children of Alcoholics World Service Organization, Inc. (WSO)is a 12 Step non-profit whose primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery to all who suffer from the effects of being raised in an alcoholic or otherwise dysfunctional environment. WSO is a connection between these individuals, ACA meetings, our Intergroups, and our Regions.

We are searching for a General Manager (GM) for our organization. The ACA WSO office in Signal Hill is the location the prospective GM will be required to work until such time as the board changes this requirement. This individual reports directly to the Board of Trustees (Board) and in concert with the Board, is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission, fellowship services, and strategic objectives.

  • As part of these broad goals, the GM will have overall operational responsibility for staff, programs and services, expansion, as well as literature publishing and distribution.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Proven ability to ensure and foster a team environment.
  • A track record of good corporate governance.
  • An understanding of organizational issues, planning and controls, financial reporting, human resources practices, and information technology applications and trends.
  • 10 years minimum continuous 12-Step membership with 2 years minimum continuous ACA membership.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related equivalent.
  • Five or more year’s senior nonprofit management experience.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
  • Experience in a supply chain environment.
  • Publishing experience is desired.
  • Multi-lingual skills a plus.

Salary commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Range: $65,000 to $70,000 per year. Benefits package to be negotiated
